Colander Table by Daniel Rohr

I dont think this table will be winning any environmentalist awards, but Daniel Rohr’s new Colander Table is really fun to look at. The beauty that you see before you was carved out of a 900 pound block of aluminum then 909 holes were drilled into it. There’s a great video showing the creation process posted at farkst.com.

The concept of this project is simple, rearrange a box to make any kind of figure or object, make the most of least, that’s what David Hoffman’s is proposing and you can send your own boxes and see your work exposed. Very cool project.

Window installment by Alex Merto

Alex Merto was invited to do a window installment for the Tools For a Living Store in Soho, New york. He chose to do “Home” as his theme and drew inspiration from needlepoint design. He wanted to make an image composed of tiny little pieces (all X’s). Every piece contributing to the overall. Because that is the way he feels about home. When he’s close to it it’s hard to see but when he’s away from it he get a real view of it.
