‘The Atomic Ghost’ – a working pseudonym of Brazilian artist Rafael Castilho Monteiro – has created a series titled simply, ‘Collages;’ a title that seems fitting given that the content of these pieces is both highly varied and complex, defying a collective identity. Monteiro’s works, which feature the use of images ranging from grizzly bears to motorcycle gangs, reference decades past, channeling the ‘Pop’ art movement and its highly iconographic productions.
