Great Cosmos – Eternal Ocean

Great cosmos – Eternal Ocean… Cold silence – No Emotions… These are the words from one of the greatest songs by Lake of Tears band. Indeed, cosmos with its sparkling stars and mysterious galaxies has always had some purely mysterious influence on people. Its silent beauty, tranquility, and infiniteness attract and inspire people today just like it all did to our ancestors, living thousands of years ago. Of course, these days we have much better understanding of cosmos. Powerful telescopes allowed us to make remote galaxies closer and to shed some light upon the secrets, concealed beyond planet Earth.

At the same time, now we know that cosmos is not as calm as it may seem at first glance – behind its seeming tranquility it is a real battlefield, where the stars are born and die during the huge bangs like the one, which gave the beginning to our own Planet many millions of years ago. We still know very little about the life of stars, meteors, galaxies, and black holes – though, what we already know is enough to say that “no emotions” is only a cover-up for true cosmos life. In this post we have collected a gallery of stars and galaxies photographs, mostly taken by NASA, to show you the true depth of cosmos, its mysterious beauty and nature. Perhaps, these photos will remind you the unique feeling you might have experienced being a child, when you stared at the clear night sky with the myriads of stars, feeling yourself a part of the entire Universe.
