Photo of the Day: Rise of the Supertrees
People are dwarfed by a clump of “Supertrees” seen against the financial skyline of Singapore on June 29. According to AP, Singapore’s “Supertrees” are environmentally sustainable vertical gardens displaying tropical flowering climbers, ferns and epiphytes. Ranging from 25 to 50 meters in height, the construction of the trees is part of a government effort to make the city center greener. (Wong Maye-E / AP). Click to zoom.
