Emotions and Character Expressed by Types
When the meaning meets the form and the latter underlines, highlights, and intensifies the meaning, it is called the typography – craft, technique, and art, known to people since the dawn of the history of human civilization culture. Once people noticed that the way the text is written affects the way it is perceived by readers, so they started to design and arrange the types in a particular order, adding decorative elements, backgrounds, and thus introducing the art constituent into seemingly pure technical process of writing words and sentences.
In spite of the fact that typography or font design dates back almost to the times immemorial, this art has not moved into the category of outdated and extinct crafts. Instead, during the previous century, the art of typography received the second wind. Thanks to the development of digital means of font designing and editing, typography is now widely popular among both enthusiasts and professionals of modern design, serving multiple industries from advertising to publishing and to online media. This showcase is to demonstrate the flourishing nature of the modern typography, its innovative transformations, and unbelievable achievements. Enjoy the types!
