Amazon founder Jeff Bezos holds the new Amazon tablet called the Kindle Fire on September 28, 2011 in New York City. Mini Manhattan made of 2.5 tons of marble
Japanese artist Yataka Sone took a multi-ton slab of marble and sculpted the surface into a recreation of Manhattan island in New York City. To ensure accuracy, Sone looked at photographs, satellite images from Google Earth, and flew over the city on helicopter rides to view the buildings, streets, bridges, and topographical nuances of the Big Apple. via Hungeree.

Baby tortoises born at Nyiregyhaza Animal Park
Eight baby African Spurred tortoises (Geochelone sulcata) measuing 5.5cm in length were born at the Nyiregyhaza Animal Park in Hungary over the weekend. The eggs were laid over the summer and hatched after an incubation period of 115 days. via Hungeree.
