The Lake Balea Ice Hotel
Every year, the proprietors of the Balea Lac Hotel of Ice build it from scratch using blocks of ice and welcome guests to the world’s only hotel where the temperatures are unbearably cold and the amenity of heat isn’t even an afterthought. The hotel is located in the Fagaras Mountains which is northwest of Bucharest in Romania and features 10 double rooms where guests sleep on king size beds and sit on seats sculpted from ice. Interested parties with a polar bent can stay nightly for $45.73 per person. Meals are served on plates made entirely of ice. via Hungeree.
