The Tomato War in Quillon, Chile

Thousands of tomatoes became a mash of sauce and seeds in Quillón located in the VIII Region of Chile, on February 11, 2012, when the second annual ‘Tomato War’ broke out. Over 3,000 participants took part in the action where 30 tons of bruised tomatoes were thrown, lobbed, hurled, and smashed against playful combatants and churned into soupy red pools of chunky flesh and glistening skins.
