The Flat Boombox, a clever material design by Hannes Harmes

1280 flat speaker 2 1 750x421 The Flat Boombox, a clever material design by Hannes Harmes

We’ve been enamored with Hannes Harms for a while now, but his latest design might just be his best yet: the recent RCA grad was able to “reduce material, volume and components through flat electronics” to create a flat boombox.

The personal audio solution consists of a perforated sheet of acid-etched stainless steel… and apparently not much more than that, thanks to the flat speaker component. In other words, it’s something like a speaker grille without a discernable driver or speaker cone.

7 Must Haves for Office Success

When you work at home, you depend upon your office equipment. The tools that you choose for your home office can make all the difference in your efficiency and how professionally you are able to work. By doing your research, you will be able to ensure that you make the right choices and that you have everything that you need to do your work. There are some must haves that you will definitely want to consider.

7 Must Haves for Office Success

Must Have: Computer

A computer is a tool that you cannot do without. Whether you choose to have a desktop or you want a more portable option, the computer that you choose can make a big difference in your work. This investment can be considerable, but it can mean the difference between success and failure. Think about your needs. Do you want to be able to work anywhere in your house or do you want to keep your work in your home office? This will help to dictate whether you need a desktop, laptop, a tablet, or multiple computers. Keep your budget in mind, but keep your work needs in mind as well.

Must Have: Dual Monitors

One thing that most people who work from home do not even realize that they cannot do without is dual monitors. This can save you a lot of time over having lots of windows open on your sole monitor and going back and forth. You can keep documents open on one monitor and look up information on the other, or you can keep multiple windows open to save you time from having to search for the right window. Once you go to dual monitors, you are sure to not want to go back to just one.

Must Have: Color Printer

If you have printing needs, you need to be sure that you have a color printer that offers fast printing speed and that is reliable. If you want a device that serves multiple functions, a printer that will fax and copy will make a big impact. This is great for a smaller office, as it will serve you a few different jobs in just one piece of equipment. Research the different color printers available, as well as the cost of printing cartridges, to allow you to find the right one for you and your particular needs.

1248 Journey in the Search for the American Dream

Photographer Pavel Prokopchik plans to travel across the USA trying to capture the essence of the American life today. The $3.5 Million Flintstones Home in Malibu

The Flintstones is an animated, prime-time American television sitcom, that was about a working class Stone Age man’s life with his family and his next-door neighbor and best friend. The show’s continuing popularity rested heavily on its juxtaposition of modern everyday concerns in the Stone Age setting. If you’re a die-hard fan of The Flintstones and have an extra $3.5 Million to spare, this house located in Malibu might be just what you need!

The Flinstone home belongs to TV and Radio legend Dick Clark and his wife, but is up for sale and pretty fresh on the market. This one-of-a-kind home in comes with a great theme as well as extensive views of the Pacific Ocean, Boney Mountains and Los Angeles. The place is only minutes away from the beach, has a wine cellar, and the living and dining rooms have vaulted ceilings that open up the space. There are only two bathrooms and one bedroom in the sprawling mansion, which come to a slight surprise.
