Tsuchihashi House by Kazuyo Sejima
Tsuchihashi House is a minimalist home located in Tokyo, Japan, and designed by Kazuyo Sejima. The residence sits atop a small 775 sqf site, and has a transparent lower level to allow an abundance of natural light to enter the space. Each level is separated by use: the living space in the basement, the kitchen and dining room on the ground floor, and the bedrooms on the upper floors.
The dwelling also has a rooftop terrace which provides access to sunlight and fresh air. The stairs are situated parallel to each other and around a square configuration. This allows the space to be maximized while efficiently connecting all of the floors together. As a result, the skylight can be viewed from the basement level, all the way to the top floor.

Whimsical Installations Introduce Korean Pop Art to London

For the 2012 summer festival “All Eyes On Korea,” some of the best Korean art is being showcased at various venues across London. Artist Choi Jeong Hwa has created two larger than life outdoor installations called Time After Time and Life-Life where he asked volunteers to help him cover up 16, dull gray pillars of the Southbank Centre with 7,000 green baskets and blow up 20,000 balloons (via pumps) to bring color and whimsy to trees.
