You take your last sip of coffee as you head inside the conference room. Immediately you eyes go dull. The long desk where your colleagues are gathered is covered in a dark brown wooden veneer that has been peeling since 98′. The walls are manilla colored and the carpet below you looks like it has been recycled from a torn down casino in Atlantic City. The whiteboard that once housed depictions of problems and their solutions is now a smeared gray from years of abuse . Before taking your seat you say to yourself, “this is no place for a creative thinking”.
Unfortunately the scenario above is more common than not in the workplace. That is why the designers at Edg Creative created the Pumpkin room. This pumpkin shaped brainstorming room is meant to encourage the collaboration and creative thinking of workers. The designers said the concept is inspired by the fairytale “Cinderella” in which a pumpkin was magically transformed into a horse drawn carriage, making Cinderella’s dreams come true.
