Turn is a minimalist lighting fixture designed by Norway-based designer Caroline Olsson. Using cultural characteristics to influence and define her design, Olsson referred back to her Norwegian roots to design Turn. The unique corkscrew on the light assimilates old workbenches used inside Norwegian woodworking shops.
The light is amplified or dimmed by turning the corkscrew mechanism. The wooden portion of the light is made of birch, and the bottom glass is entirely hand-blown. I love the hazy frosted glass that was used to give the light a soft and ambiant feel. The entire aesthetic is unique and interesting for a light design, and the composition of materials is perfect.
