The Incredible Murals of Argentine Street Artist Martin Ron

1
If you’re looking for a place to visit that has a growing and impressive street art scene, you may want to consider Argentina. According to the Huffington Post, “while it’s illegal to paint on the side of a building in the public right of way without an owners’ permission, artists can do pretty much as they please with an owner’s OK,” which is a lot less complicated than it is here in the United States and many other places around the world. One Argentine artist who has taken advantage of this is Martin Ron.

2
The artist has done numerous large-scale, surreal murals around Buenos Aires and recently made his international debut with his first ever solo show entitled “Soup” at London’s Mead Carney Fine Art. “I see society as a great big soup,” says Ron of the exhibition title. “The three main ingredients of the soup are man, nature and technology and they are all mixed together in a disorganized way without care or meaning.”

That philosophy can also be seen in many of his murals, as he blends human body parts with machinery in interesting ways.
