I love the simplicity and execution of this Chinese packaging design created for A wisp of Tea, Shantou. The main characteristics of the brown tea packaging are the small burn holes which cover various functions at the same time: they indicate the special process used to dry the tea, enable for ventilation and enhances the brown eco-friendly packaging paper with decorative pictograms. The white packaging design features illustrations that characterize the country and displays the tea ceremony which is held in high regard in China. The spirit of the tea ceremony is venerated as peaceful, pure and gently silent. The long narrow label serves as a closing seal and features the logo and other useful information. Designed by Shaobin Lin who has won a red dot and Pentawards with this packaging design.
Check out this beautifully produced behind-the-scenes video documenting a shoot by Erik Almås for Credit Suisse and Euro RSCG London. See how Erik “builds” the final visual using many elements, carefully crafting fantastical landscapes and surreal imagery. The shoot involved traveling to Arizona, Hawaii and Los Angeles to include gorgeous landscapes, set building, and CGI dinosaurs.
Set of quality fashion photography by talented Dimitris Theocharis. Enjoy!
SLUTWALKS are protests against rape and sexual innuendos suffered by women through sexually-provocative clothing. These manifestations unite young women dressed in ordinary clothes and transform them in a provocative manner as if to render them as sluts. These women protest to have the right to dress as they please without being portrayed as sexual innuendos. Through this work, we wanted to play on the analogy between vindication and provocation, of the contrast between the claim of one’s own protest (as in a march or demonstration) with the sexuality of one’s objective presentation (as in a catwalk). Here, the female body becomes a high measure of claim, defined by the statements ”PROUD TO BE A SLUT”, or more so, ”BITCH, WHORE, SLUT”. We developed this work based on a principle of simple pairings, of pieces of fabric matched with transparent yet provocative messages.
