The Greatest Brandversations by Stefan Asafti
Stefan Asafti is a Web Designer/Graphic Designer from Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Once upon a time Stefan created a project about great brands of the modern world. We’re pretty certain you will recognize every single brand listed. Thanks to the free market, competition to offer the best value to the consumer is fierce. Brands fight against each other in a never ending boxing match to win your heart.
There have always existed disputes among the competing parties, divergent opinions, while the fans of each brand were convinced that theirs was the best product. Last, but not least, the rivals have even conducted ad campaigns against the competing brands. This project mostly approaches the visual “conversations” between the company logos and the ways that they influence each other, hence the name of the project, Brandversations. It is a parallel between the modern and the old, some of the slogans dating back to the 40s and 50s.
Daily Inspirations no. 373
Hey there! Seems we’ll be starting today’s inspirations with some naked skin. Of course very artistic … decent photography only .). Anyway, I’ll skip these … and move to a photo that really made me laugh. It’s called Is that a monkey on your lens by Kevin Steele. That’s how I imagine photographer – monkey cooperation. Good chemistry! Of course there are some cool illustrations available today as well. I personally like the Sleeping With Ghosts by Aleksey Litvishkov and AGAIN the artwork by Jimmy Pickering. That guy is everywhere. It’s like the first time I am stopping in the cool logo design section. I need to, the Dweb by Khloosoff is awesome … maybe the text could be a little bit larger … but I guess that’s my professional deformation speaking. Ad section has one hilarious artwork to offer … don’t you dare to miss the National Geographic, Dog Whisperer: Parents by Ireland Davenport. How cool is that? :) Now something you could really find an use for … get the free RSS feed icons from templay. Enjoy!
Excellent Designs of Paper Bags and Boxes
In this generation of increased environmental awareness, most retail stores now settle in replacing plastic bags with anything paper-based. Paper bags and boxes are now being used for shopping because they’re eco-friendly, recyclable and cheaper. Apart from their use in carrying stuff; paper bags are usually kept for future use especially when they are beautifully designed or made from durable material. Companies are now coming up with creative bags as part of their branding and it is becoming a huge trend particularly in the retail and fashion industry.

My picks are no doubt the Alice by Julie Dillon, STOP SOPA Bill by sakimichan, hunter by Denis Zilber as well as the Sloop by Jimmy Pickering. The other ones as cool as well … simply today’s illustrations didn’t disappoint. If you’re into ads, I advise you not to miss the Jeep Compass: Compass Baby by Ross Cummins.
