World’s Highest Bridge Unveiled in Mexico
Mexican President Felipe Calderon opened the tallest suspension bridge in the world, Baluarte Bridge, on Thursday. The bridge, which connects the north-western Mexican state of Sinaloa with Durango and Mazatlan, has been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest suspension bridge in the world. The cable-supported bridge can easily fit the Eiffel Tower under its middle part.
Nearly 86 percent of the project is complete. The entire stretch will become operational by the end of January 2012.

Daily Inspirations no. 334
Ok, here we go again …. new daily inspirations are ready for you. So, what do we have? Got to repeat myself, but again, we are packed with quality stuff and you’ll agree with me when scrolling through this collection yourself. Anyway, there are some brilliant photos featured today such as the Lion Under Leaning Tree by Nick Brandt, want-to-be-there beach photo by Andy Mahr and a surprised lemur photo by Mario Moreno. From the illustrations I’ll mention just one artwork and that is the nude natural by Yuehui Tang … so tight with the nature .). Two sections below, in the art / digi art section I love the painting by Lucy Mazel. Love the style and colors. When checking the typography section, I realize it’s kind of hard to pick my fav as all featured artworks are worth being there. Of course I can’t forget you freebie guys out there … we’ve got some cool free retro ribbons … useful for your web design projects. Enjoy the collection and get inspired!

Harbin Ice and Snow Festival 2012: Spectacular Sculptures Pierce China’s Skies
Fairy tale palaces, towering pagodas and skyscrapers — all carved from ice — are among the sights at the 28th annual Harbin Ice and Snow Festival.
The festival, one of the world’s largest, officially opens January 5 and lasts for a month. People from across China and overseas are drawn to the unique visions of an international roster of sculptors who illuminate their creations with multicolored lights encased in the translucent ice. The sculptures and buildings are built from ice blocks cut from the frozen surface of the nearby Songhua river.
The festival attracts about 800,000 visitors each year to Harbin, one of China’s coldest cities, located in the northeast province of Heilongjiang, where the mercury in January often creeps below minus four degrees Fahrenheit.
