Stefan Sagmeister – The Happy Show

Stefan Sagmeister‘s “The Happy Show” is still on display at the Institute of Contemporary Art, University of Pennsylvania until August 12, 2012.

Sagmeister not only tests the boundary between art and design, but often transgresses it through his imaginative implementation of typography. The Happy Show, a thematic exhibition of film, print, infographics, sculpture, and interactive installations offers visitors the experience of walking into the designer’s mind as he attempts to increase his happiness via mediation, cognitive therapy, and mood-altering pharmaceuticals.

The World of Redmer Hoekstra’s

Afterland

Afterland is a unique, free-to-play mobile card game in development by Imaginary games based out of San Francisco, CA. What makes this game unique is the beautiful card artwork hand painted by artists Megan Majewski and Elin Johnson whose style walks the line between cute and creepy with a Tim Burtonesque feminine twist. The gameplay will feature a fusion of Japanese style collectible card game (CCG) and a social turn based game much like the popular mobile app Draw Something. So check out their KickStarter to find out how to support this great art/game project after having a look at some of the beautiful artwork. You can view more of the game’s art at Imaginary Game’s Pinterest and the Imaginary Games website
