Groom-to-be Xiao Fan had a dress made of 9,999 red roses for his bride-to-be, Yin Mi, which allowed him to propose to his betrothed in style at the Chime-Long Paradise Amusement Park in Guangdong, China. In Chinese custom, the phonetic pronunciation of the number ’9′ sounds like the Chinese word for ‘forever’ which is what Mr. Fan hopes his marriage will be if he’s lucky. via Hungeree.

McDonald’s Japan has a new mascot
In the States, a clown named Ronald McDonald serves as the mascot for the McDonald’s fast food chain. In Japan, Ronald and a few other mascots have had their day but they’re being replaced by a newer representative who wears candy-cane leggings, red garters, and a yellow/white hausfrau dress that would make any lumberjack proud. Three-Story Tower of Books in Ford’s Theatre Center
The newly built Ford’s Theatre Center for Education and Leadership which sits across the street from Ford’s Theatre in downtown Washington, D.C., will enthrall visitors later this month with exhibits on Abraham Lincoln’s life, death, and legacy. The centerpiece of the museum and learning center is a towering three-story sculpture made of 15,000+ books written about Lincoln which stretches from the ground floor to the third floor in ramshackle fashion. The center opens its doors to the public on February 12, Lincoln’s birthday, and group tours are welcome starting on February 21, the day after President’s Day. via Hungeree. 
Bjarke Ingels Group’s Heart in Times Square
Architectural firm Bjarke Ingels Group has installed a sculpture titled, ‘BIG ♥ NYC,’ in Times Square which is made up of 400 LED tubes which depict a large red heart inside a 10′ cube in time for Valentine’s Day. When a sensor is touched, the heart pulsates and glows to the delight of passersby and pedestrians. The installation was unveiled yesterday and runs through February 29, 2012. via Hungeree

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: The Tattoo
A major Disney fan in Taichung, Taiwan, was so enraptured with the ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ animation that she had Snow White, the Prince, and all seven dwarves tattooed on her back. The work too three months for Annfaye Kao, age 27, to complete and she recounted, “It took three months to finish it as it was so detailed. It hurt really badly to get a full one on my whole back. At times I was in such pain that I wanted to hurry it up, but luckily I didn’t give up and got it finished.” via Hungeree
