Bedtime for babies
Photographer Richard Barry spent five hours preparing and patiently waiting for the perfect moment to capture four puppies and an eight-day-old baby named Matilda to fall asleep. Barry said of the photo shoot, “The objective was to get the baby and the chihuahua puppies all asleep on a beanbag at the same time. It is undoubtedly the most difficult photo I have ever taken. At five weeks, the puppies were far more lively than I expected at that age. Baby Matilda was also in quite a lively mood!” via Hungeree.

The cuticula of an insect is its outer shell or exoskeleton which protects its fleshy innards from attack and the elements. John Lennon’s tooth headed for the auction block
Beatles fans looking to get closer to the band, and more specifically to John Lennon, have a chance next month to bid on one of the late singer’s molars. Originally bequeathed by Lennon to a housekeeper named Dorothy “Dot” Jarlett when she was under his employ between 1964 to 1968, the tooth is being sold by her son, Barry, with a reserve price of US$16,000 on November 5, 2011. via Buzzaurus.
