Pillow Talk by Joanna Montgomery

Aim to connect long distance lovers, Pillow Talk an emotionally bond project by Joanna Montgomery, an interaction designer and photographer is a specially design pillow with a wireless chest censor.
The lovers, each have to has a pillow for their bed and a chest sensor which they wear to sleep at night. The chest sensor wirelessly communicates with the other person’s pillow; when one person goes to bed, their lover’s pillow begins to glow softly to indicate their presence. By placing your head on the pillow, you get to hear the real-time heartbeat of your loved one.
The result, an intimate interaction between two lovers regardless of the distance.

Made from American standard food-safe silicone, d°light Huggable designed by Diana Lin Design, an innovative combination of ambient lighting and cushion would certainly lighten up your living room!
A furry pillow cover wrapped around a series of 12 LED lights embedded within silicone bubbles where it acts as a diffuser for the LED lights. When the warm-white LED lamps lit up, the technology creates a warm and comforting glow through the natural color of the silicone translucent white which represents sunlight.

Blue Carpet by Heatherwick Studio won the design competition in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK for the city’s first new public square. Before the launching of Blue Carpet 2002, the long narrow site was more of a disused road than a square although it is close to the city’s busy inner ring road while surrounded by different types of buildings. After 2002, number of visitors for Laing Gallery in the square has increased by 57%.

What capture me the most is the title of this project: ” What it is, it isn’t.” beside the image of awkward looking cabinet, of course. Then, I realized the text was taken from ‘Alice in Wonderland’, which is written by Lewis Carroll and this project by Ontwerpduo get its inspiration from it.
What it is, it isn’t.
