The penthouse is located above a block of flates, built in the sixties. The flat area is smaller than the lower floors, due to the façade withdrawing that generates a great terrace, all around the flat. Every room is connected with the exterior…

A furniture collection designed for Conde House, a manufacturer based in Japan’s famous Asahikawa wooden furniture region. We splintered each piece of wood as though peeling it away. Chairs’ backrests divide to become armrests and legs, and the top of the coat stand peels away to provide coat hooks…

The Post Natural History project Post this encyclopedic boards near future, between memory and projection, where different living species are modified to meet changing environments and new desires of man. At the beginning of XXI century the genetic modification has taken two new paths. On the one hand, synthetic biology, which combines genetic engineering and, secondly, the reprogramming of stem cells leads to the production of new cells, new fabrics and new bodies…

Casa Larga stands like a monolith in the middle of a Ticinese vineyard, jutting high above Lake Maggiore. After a stroll through the village of Incella, beyond the narrow medieval alleys, the view expands to reveal a breathtaking view. From the picturesque, populous Magadino plain to the north, the eyes wander far down the lake to Italy in the south and rest upon the hills of the Gambarogno mountain chain across the lake…

“…My works explore concepts of photography and its physicality, while their contents rely hugely on a playful mind, inspired by the time I spent with my sister when we were isolated from family and friends. During this time, I developed a way of escaping from the desolation and existential ennui.”

“We look at a piece of white paper and see whiteness. Emptiness, void, etc. But when we put two pieces of white paper next to each other we realise that whiteness is just one part of it. Texture, smell, and a different sort of whiteness all come into play. The function of this table is to make you feel the nuance of paper. So that you can see exactly what kind of whiteness you want to use when creating something…”

The Cloudy House is an extension to a house from the ‘30s, which had become too small for the young and expanding family in residence.

The roof of the existing house seems to stretch out over the extension, giving the extension a dynamic and contemporary expression, while clearly communicating its origin from the existing building. The shape of the extension sensitively picks up existing features like roof angles and windows placements of the old house. An angled terrace allows for new views to the garden, its edge consists of a built-in bench that seems to fold out of the facade…

“I make images that are minimal and two-dimensional by layering people, places and things to precisely execute ideas, but with the intention of discarding information. As I want the ideas to be tangible, the process becomes rigorously physical and related to my personal experience in terms of making photographs; it often contains cutting, gluing and pasting mundane objects from real life, such as paper and cotton balls…”

“This 2nd year collection is created in early 2009. During this period I was fascinated by the movie ‘Blind’ by Tamar van den Dop, a movie Dutch made in 2007. Not so much the story, but rather the atmosphere inspired me. I started to wonder what it would mean to life as a blind person. In what way other senses do develop and whether the sense of touch can take it over from the eyes…”

If our fast-pace life and the kaleidoscope of material things that fill it engender apathy, Heidi Voet’s work acts as an antidote. It is within the space of the temporal and the everyday that her work operates. The artist re-creates scenes and fragments from our daily encounters using unlikely yet common materials…

The Mount Analogue collection was inspired global warming. With city centres consumed by the inflow of climate refugees, a cult of business men flee the chaos and take respite in nature. Using their environment consisting of tree bark, animal hides, feathered friends and foliage, they redesign their business attire with their natural surroundings.

Sloping House is a makeshift shelter that clings to the side of an extinct volcano in the Puy de Serveix, in France’s Massif Central. Built from recycled timber by the artists themselves, this sculptural one-person refuge, seems to erupt from the grassy slope, as if the structure’s wooden planks are being flung out of the earth only to reform into the neat lines of an archetypal hut…

The intervention aimed for the adaptation and refurbishment of a “Pombalino” building, turning it into a short term rental unit. Located in the heart of the historical area of Baixa, in Lisbon, the building sits at the corner of Rua dos Fanqueiros and Rua da Conceição. Since its construction in the late 18th century, there has been a great deal of changes and modifications that deeply modified the original character of its fractions. As project strategy and as a way of reducing costs, the decision was made to accept its existing heterogeneous character…

At the beginning of the 20th century, East African hunting safaris became a fashionable pursuit among members of the privileged classes, particularly in Britain and the United States. The completion of the Uganda Railway in 1901 provided easier access to the interior highlands of British East Africa (now Kenya), where large game, especially elephants, lions, buffalo and rhinoceros, was plentiful. The white hunter served these paying customers as guide, teacher, and protector…
