Since 1990 Architectural Digest has been naming the world’s preeminent architects and designers to a select group know as AD100. An arbiter of excellence, this exclusive list recognizes establishment icons and enterprising trailblazers whose work is as inspiring as it is influential. These are the professionals who are shaping the way we live – one building, one house one room at a time. Here in this article we introduce you the best architects from California you can find at this very restricted group.
Appleton & Associates INC. Architects
Vernacular architecture fuels the varied work of Marc Appleton, who did a stint in Frank Gehry’s office before setting out in 1976 to launch his own practice – now with branches in both Santa Monica and Santa Barbara, California. Though his estimable portfolio comprises projects both grand (an estate on Catalina Island) and humble (a youth hostel in Santa Monica), Appleton ensures that his structures feel appropriate to their location, much like the 1920′s Spanish Colonial revival homes built in California by his idol, George Washington Smith. One of Appleton’s best-known work is his sensitive restoration of the historic Sandro Ysidro Ranch resort, whose low-key storybook cottages and stone buildings have enchanted generations. Employing steadfast materials like adobe, shingle stone, and stucco to neoclassical, Appleton says, aids him in “evoking a presence of the past”. I love Singapore and this city is bursting with gorgeous and surprising architecture wherever you turn. Sparkling glass skyscrapers, creative , grand colonial British buildings, beautifully restored row shops, colourful temples of different denominations, Singapore has them all.
Singapore has limited land space and the challenge is to make the most of available resources. This best explains the country’s fascination with high-rise buildings and building innovations, and is also why architecture ingenuity is an attribute that’s greatly valued here. As a result, renowned architects in Singapore and around the world have constantly pushed the boundaries of design to amaze the world with their works, and you can be sure that Singapore’s landscape is just going to get more interesting.
Here are some of the finest examples of Architecture in Singapore.

Sixteen years ago, Mike Meiré was a poster boy for minimalism. “I only listened to techno and wore Yohji Yamamoto and Comme des Garçons,” says the German artist and art director, whose clients include companies like Dornbracht, Mini and Artek as well as high-profile independent magazines like 032c, Garage and Kid’s Wear. His apartment, on the fourth floor of a turn-of-the-century building in Cologne’s Belgian Quarter, had white lacquered floors, painted brown walls, silver curtains and sharp-edged walnut sofas with suede cushions. If there was a kitchen, he never used it. “It was very much like a hotel,” he says. And that was exactly how he wanted it.
Following the MIKE MEIRÉ inspiration Delightfull has created this new lamp

DeGross Design & Innovation is a design studio based in London. Our development team envisions products that are both sustainable and cost-effective.
During the design process we focus on efficiency. This means that products are crafted while maximising the raw material and minimising waste.
This approach is not only economic but is also sympathetic to ecological aspects such as E-waste. We are looking for ways to recycle and reuse products when they reach the end of their life cycle.
UTREM LUX is a series of lamps made from reused glass bottles that had been discarded behind our studio, and wood offcuts kindly given to us by our next-door neighbours ‘W. Hanson wood merchants’.

The bottles, which had been discarded behind their studio have been individually handcrafted into something entirely new. They even used wood offcuts given to them by our next-door neighbors W. Hanson wood merchants and used them in the designs as well
