Transcendant Light Photography

The James Tapscott photos titled ‘Transference’ use different methods of shining light to create mystical mayhem. The stunning shots set light against nature backdrops in an expansive field. The lights flash, pick up reflections and flicker in the photography. The Australian artist uses pole lighting using fiber optic cables to shine light and get the illumination necessary to capture these breath taking shots. The glows created seem blue and the way they fall appear like water flowing down to the ground. The photo series has an eerie and UFO-inspired theme running through it. The photographs are simple, elegant and are full of magnificent energy. The James Tapscott photos in the collection ‘Transference’ literally transfer you to a different dimension of light and interpretation.

Age Maps by Bobby Neal Adams

Who wants to see themselves as a 7-year old fused next to what they look like at this exact moment? The objects take on characteristics that wouldn’t normally be associated with them because of their juxtaposition to the nature environment.

San Francisco After the Earthquake and Today

These dramatic photographs show the streets of modern-day San Francisco torn apart by the after-effects of a violent earthquake. Buildings are reduced to rubble, huge craters have opened in the debris-strewn roads and uncontrollable fires have ripped through homes. Fortunately, these pictures are a clever amalgamation of images of the city today and after the devastating quake of 1906.
