| Felt Lamps |
The Wilding’s first release is a limited edition of pressed Felt Lamps. They were designed in 2004 by Matthew Radune with assistance from Susanna Hohmann. They are made of natural (non-dyed) white industrial felt, molded to hold a new form. The lamp is approximately 13″ W X 24″ H, and is wall hung. Use only compact fluorescent bulbs.

“The image, published online Oct. 9 by The New England Journal of Medicine, was created by schlieren photography, which “takes an invisible phenomenon and turns it into a visible picture,” said the engineering professor, Gary Settles, who is the director of the university’s gas dynamics laboratory.
Schlieren is German for “streaks”; in this case it refers to regions of different densities in a gas or a liquid, which can be photographed as shadows using a special technique.” (c) via nytimes

“Demonstrations” combines my scientific curiosity with a constructive approach to making pictures. I utilize everyday objects and fundamental forces to illustrate my own experiences with wonder. Each piece begins with a simple question (How would this look? Is that possible? What would happen if…) and develops through a process of experimentation. By establishing physical parameters first, I discover each idea’s visual potential. This allows the natural properties of the subject matter to inform my aesthetic decisions as I construct these arenas to reveal the phenomena.
