The impressive sight like the gateway to hell has become a popular tourist location. Ladybower is a large Y-shaped reservoir, the lowest of three in the Upper Derwent Valley in Derbyshire, England. It was built between 1935 and 1943 by the Derwent Valley Water Board, and took a further two years to fill (1945).
