This year The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management’s Environmental Photographer of the Year competition received over 1,400 international entries for the categories Changing Climates, World of Difference, Quality of Life, The Natural World, and Under 21. A selection of the images is currently being shown at the Apothecary Gallery in Hammersmith, London. The overall winner was Abhijit Nandi, whose image is shown above.
Buddy Hollie
Buddy Holly is documented in a new photography exhibition at Proud Galleries, which coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of the first rockstar death in history. Buddy’s style is almost as lasting as his music. With his thick gelled curls and horn-rimmed glasses, he is ripe for inspiring hordes of young hipsters riding the quiff of rock-a-billy revivalism. You can probably even get Peggy Sue frames at Top Shop.

Triceracopter
Patricia Renick’s Triceracopter is a truly epic construction. Completed in 1976 as the Vietnam war wound down, it serves largely as a plea for the extinction of military technology. 30 feet long, the fearsome sculpture combines life sized helicopter and Triceratops parts, featuring genuine blades and weapons.

Steve Bell
Steve Bell is Britain’s most recognizable political cartoonist. Over a 28 year career at the Guardian he has terrorized the rich and powerful, often depicting them as animals and monsters.
