Bringing Down The Wall
We were at the fifth of anniversary of Stop the Wall protests in Bil’in, the West Bank village closed off from its land by the barrier. A record crowd of around 2,000, including Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, were in attendance. Here’s what it looked like.

Abandoned Cemetaries of Jerusalem
Ma’man Allah Cemetery, also know as Mamilla Cemetery, is a thousand-year-old Muslim graveyard located in what is now central Jerusalem. Originally covering an area of 180 dunums (one dunum being equivalent to a quarter acre), 70% of its graves were obliterated to make way for a park, named Independence. The Invisible Men
One of the cruellest ironies of the occupation is that Palestinians are building it. Tens of thousands of labourers are employed in construction of the wall, settlements and the industries around them.

Qalqilya:Prison City
No town in the West Bank suffers more restrictions than Qalqilya. The population is surrounded on all four sides by the wall, which separates them from their farmland and source of income. Worse still is the security which accompanies these structures, with dozens of checkpoints policing the town and nearby villages. Many of these serve no purpose at all, closing months after they appear, often in bizarre locations between Arabic villages.
