GriZine: #StreetArtistanbul on Instagram

grizine streetartistanbul02 GriZine: #StreetArtistanbul on Instagram
GriZine started the #StreetArtistanbul movement on Instagram in order to embrace street art of Istanbul and to archive the works of street art, which are on the walls today, but may disappear tomorrow. At the beginning of summer 2012, there will be an exhibition with the photographs that are archived at grizine.com/StreetArtistanbul.

Upload your photos of street art of Istanbul to Instagram by using #StreetArtistanbul, and give us a hand in our endeavor to document the urban cultural values of Istanbul.

interdimensional exhibition: ghost buildings

 interdimensional exhibition: ghost buildings
Nowadays, an exhibition takes place around the city in Istanbul. The exhibition is there but the subjects of the exhibit are inexistent; they are ghosts of the city: the buildings that were demolished either by human hand or by catastrophes.

The project that is supported by the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency, opens the destructions and reconstructions in the city to discussion through 12 selected buildings. These buildings, that do not exist anymore, are selected from different historical eras of Istanbul considering different destruction causes and they form the framework of the exhibition.

 SoBi: social bike sharing system
SoBi will be the first public bike share system with the authorization, tracking, and security systems attached to the bicycle itself. SoBi uses GPS, mobile communications, and a secure lock that can attach to almost any bicycle and lock to any regular bike rack. The system does not require separate infrastructure and can be deployed at approximately one-third the cost of existing systems. Administrators will be given powerful tools to manage demand and map patterns of use. Users will enjoy door-to-door transportation and an interactive cycling experience that can track miles traveled, calories burned, CO2 emissions offset, and connections to other Social Cyclists.
