73 Days of Summer, 73 Safe Parking Spots

Hundreds of dogs die in hot cars every summer. It’s sad and completely preventable. I wanted to come up with something that would make people stop and think before putting their dogs in harm’s way. People either don’t think anything will happen, or think that the dog will be okay with just the window cracked, or they are just plain careless.
My project is called — 73 days of Summer, 73 Safe Parking Spots. It’s going to run from June 20th (the first day of summer) — Sept. 1st. I’ll pick one parking spot a day throughout the city of Chicago and leave a message written in chalk. I’ll also leave a dog toy, a bowl of water, or even a leash to make it more impactful. Hopefully people will see it and remember not to leave their dogs in their cars. If we can save one dog’s life that’s enough.
Thanks for your time
And thanks for helping me get the word out.
