Coca-Cola and Emeco presents the “111 Navy Chair”, made from 111 recycled plastic bottles



About four years ago, in 2006, Coca-Cola came to Emeco with a proposal. Coke asked them to make the classic Navy Chair out of a new, unproven formulation of rPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate- recycled plastic bottles), introducing them to the scientists at BASF, and together developed proprietary mix made of about 60% and a special combination of pigment combined with glass fiber for strength. The result is the “111 Navy Chair”, made from 111 recycled plastic bottles. See awesome photos and a short film detailing the creation of it.
