I don’t know what it is about pictures of the homeless but I find them quite powerful. Perhaps it’s because you can see an image from a warzone and it’s like: “oh that is terrible, war is terrible” but there is no way of relating to it because it is so far removed from your own reality where as homelessness is everywhere.
