New Sofa from Herman Miller presented during NY Design Week 2013
Herman Miller, Inc., continues to embrace the blending of life and work with the introduction of the Wireframe Sofa Group, a newly-commissioned design by Sam Hecht and Kim Colin of London-based Industrial Facility. This addition to the Herman Miller Collection is being presented during New York Design Week 2013.
Minimalist and modern with a visible lightness, the Wireframe Sofa Group features an external structure that uniquely holds its cushioning in place. Made from steel wire, the durable frame ensures that Hecht and Colin’s design is lightweight. Moreover, because this frame is separate from the upholstery, the cushions are easy to remove, clean, and maintain. The first sofa to employ suspension technology developed by Herman Miller for the healthcare industry, Wireframe evenly distributes sitting pressure, making it a comfortable and versatile choice for home, working, and hospitality environments.

Disrupt Design at New York City by Fab
Fab’s second “Disrupt Design” competition will be held at the Jacob Javits Center during ICFF 2013.
Following the huge success of the new product call out in Milan, Fab is doing another round of crowd-sourcing new products, which they will put into production and sell to Fab’s 12 million members. Milan’s call out was so successful that Fab decided to put twelve new products into production (they originally anticipated having three winners).
