The sun captured by Alan Friedman
These are beautiful captures of the sun using a telescope, a camera and high-end filters by Alan Friedman. “At night I pursue a passion for astronomy. My observatory, located in a downtown Buffalo backyard amidst street lights and the turbulent winds of the jet stream, is far from ideally located. But it’s close to home and astronomy equipment is heavy so l’ve tried to make the most of it. You will find this site devoted primarily to high resolution views of bright objects – the moon and sun, planets and bright stars – targets that show themselves as well from the city as from dark rural skies.”

Ayada Maldives Resort
As most already said goodbye to Summer, in Maldives the temperature ranges between 24 °C (75 °F) and 33 °C (91 °F) throughout the year. This should be ideal to enjoy the 112 villa Ayada Maldives Resort, recently opened and located on the island of Maguhdhuvaa, in the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll district.

I Believe I Can Fly
“I Believe I Can Fly” is a trailer for the documentary by the French director Sébastien Montaz-Rosset around the exploration of climbing, slackline and tightrope walking in places like France or Norway. “I have been filming the Skyliners on an incredible exploration into the world of free flight. Tancrède, Julien, Seb and Antoine are pioneers in ‘highlining’ – a vertiginous combination of climbing, slackline and tightrope walking. We travelled from our home in Chamonix to our training ground in the Verdon gorge, testing the limits for our ultimate goal. We rigged highlines on the skyscrapers of Paris, and finally came to the spectacular cliffs and fjords of Norway. Months of training led the Skyliners team to attempt their dream of complete freedom… the freedom of flight!”

Splashes by Heinz Maier
“Splashes” is a series of high speed shots captured from water drops, creating instant moments of beauty. These are experimental shots by the German Heinz Maier. “I’ve been photographing since the end of 2010. I’m fascinated by everything in the photography I would really like to try everything at once but one after another. I do not know yet which genre I would be developing in, but right now I am experimenting in macro photography (insect and water drop photography).”

Dry Bones
A collaboration of artists on the project “Dry Bones” by Dan DiFelice. “This project was a collaborative effort that spanned countries & time zones with several artists working long hours to finally put this piece out. The passage comes from an Old Testament prophecy, taken from Ezekiel 37. Not only is the text extremely descriptive and visual, lending itself to beautiful imagery, but show that where there is death and exile, hope and life can be found.”

Manuela Kulpa Animal Photography
These are beautiful animal shots by the German photographer Manuela Kulpa. I’m not sure how she manage to get that kind of visual effects, if some sort of HDR capture, photo edition or even both, what I do know is that the result is amazing. “I see photography as my contribution to presenting the beauty of nature. In doing so I have concentrated a lot of our efforts on fauna found in zoos, wildlife parks, aquaria and terraria. My photography is primarily concerned with endangered species. General: I don’t use flash for animal photos!”
