COME BY YALCIN KONUK

Rumi a poet and philosopher of the 13th century in Anatolia, excelled in poetry: His style was simple and colloquial. His tales possessed diverse qualities: variety and originality, dignity and picturesqueness, learning and charm, depth of feeling and thought. The Mathnawi is no doubt very disjointed; the stories follow one another in no apparent order. But it is filled with lyrical inspiration. Each small tale may be read separately, and one cannot help but be impressed with its succinctness.
Rumi’s teachings and universe led me to write a song inspired from his pure approach of Love.
As the Master said: “Let the beauty of what you love be what you do“.

COME
WHEN IT’S COLD AND RAINING
YOU ARE MORE BEAUTIFUL
AND THE SNOW BRINGS ME
EVEN CLOSER TO YOUR LIPS
I CAN’T EXPLAIN THE GOINGS
I CAN’T EXPLAIN THE COMINGS
YOU’RE JUST HERE AND I AM NOWHERE NOW
LET’S COVER WITH GOLD OUR LIPS AND OUR EYES
LET’S BECOME ONE
WE ARE TWO, BUT ONE IN SOUL, YOU AND I
LIGHT MAKES OUR BODY VISIBLE
BUT THE NIGHT BRINGS THE REAL LIGHT ON OUR SOUL
LOVE
NOONE LOVE LIKE THIS
SHE’S THE ONE
COME! COME ! COME!
WHOEVER YOU ARE
COME AND COMPLETE ME
COME! COME ! COME!
WHEREVER YOU ARE
COME AND FIND ME
YOU ARE NOW THE SUN
AND THE WORDS ARE OVER
I WILL LIE DOWN AND REST
NOW THAT I’VE FOUND THE LOVE TO BE WITH
TALKING IS PAIN
AND THE PAIN THEY BRING IS GONE
NOW I HAVE TO REST IN THE ARMS OF MY BELOVED

I’ve got better things to do
my first day in town
was on a thin long street
my first night in town
was with my face on the ground
my first love in town
was under the moonlight
my first pain in town
was a too pretty city girl
I’ve got better things to do
why am i flying and crying
why am i running and loving
my last fight in town was
in my never paid hotel room
my best friend in town
was my street dog “Edie”
do-do-do-do-do you love me
do-do-do-do-do you feel me
do-do-do-do-do you need me
do-do-do-do-do you want me

The Deconstruction of Ahmet Baytar’s Autumn \ Winter 2009 – 2010 Collection

Here’s below Ahmet Baytar’s words regarding his new collection:
“I was trying to appreciate the movie “ Mulholland Drive “, apart from its being visually satisfying and its screen and sound effects pulling the watcher into a stream, I found that the two main characters of the film had affected me. The gorgeous Naomi Watts and Laura Elena Harring have become the inspiration for my 2010 winter collection in my sketchbook, that I could not put down for a second, as I watched.
For those who have never seen David Lynch’s movie, the story is about two beautiful women. The first, Rita, seeks asylum in a house after losing her memory in a car crash and the second, Betty, who is seeking stardom. The movie fooled me into believing that I understood the plot, then completely turned all of my assumptions upside down. It is a masterpiece of illusion for the viewer and has to be seen to be appreciated.
The progress of the events in the movie, fluctuating between reality and fantasy, was the same dilemma that I had whilst deciding the height of the shoes and boots. And disturbed me in the same way.
Instead of avoiding this dilemma, I decided to embrace it and to reflect this dilemma directly onto my designs, then they appeared in my sketches, unexpectedly, as the story unfolded.
During the final period of making shoes, after the design process, I needed to make some small decisions, like choosing the right heels, colour of the leather, etc. While I was making these decisions, the aesthetic behavior of Naomi Watts and Laura Elena Harring’s amazing performance remained in my mind and have steered me in the direction that I have gone.
I feel that the story of Mulholland Drive continues in my designs.”

The collection will be soon available in Turkey and Italy.

The Curious Case of Ahmet Baytar for PARISTEXAS

The Story of Ahmet Baytar for PARISTEXAS started in a stylish cafe in Istanbul. Sertac Haznedaroglu (PARISTEXAS founder) and Ahmet Baytar (Industrial Designer) were sitting gracefuly enjoying their drinks and the surrounding atmosphere. Somehow the conversation spontaneously evolved towards the theme “Why all these pretty girls are wearing the same cliché and boring shoes? There should be something to do. Something different, fun, elegant and chic.” And the story goes…
