Music for Freedom

Art sometimes performs a function bigger than its definition. Art of all types, shapes and media has been used to make a statement, to make pressure, to support revolutions.
The “Music for Freedom” project is about that and about using the power of social media to make a difference.

New Musical Ways

The music industry is going into a quiet revolution. More and more artists around the world are trying new ways to reach their audience in a direct way, getting first hand feedback from their fans, sharing their music whenever they see fit and how they see fit, cutting the umbilical chord from the major labels.
Grassy Knoll is one of those artists. With a magnificent user interface, attention to the details and a ease to use, Grassy Knoll just released his own application on iTunes that you can install for free on your iPhone/iPOD touch.
Oh! And the music is great as well!

The result is a whole new way of using the YouTube platform and a whole new way of presenting a company.

Sound Designers from the Future

Conceptual. Detailed. Creative. Emotional.
These keywords could describe any design project that we love. But in the case of this post they refer to sound design.
Sound design is “the manipulation of audio elements to achieve a desired effect.”
A work of detail, exploration and technical research and directly connected to an emotional pursuit, sound design is more and more becoming “music” for itself (or if you prefer an aural experience) than the boundaries of the secondary role, that have been given to it, by the movie industry in the past.

Graffiti Time Bomb
TimeBomb is the brainchild of digital artist Lukasz Karluk (Holler) and Sydney sculptor/painter KissKiss (Stupidkrap.com).
The final installation will “appear as two giant graffiti walls suspended in the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney. One painted wall will be real, the other a projected double, interacting with the viewers movements to reveal the layers of graffiti swirling backwards in time.”
