Denis Zilber: I was born in Minsk, former Soviet Union. I paint in Photoshop from the scratch, which means I don’t scan my sketches as many artists do. When I start coloring and if this is supposed to be a realistic image first of all I think of diffused fill light in my scene. It determines the whole color palette. Then I paint all of my objects with their basic colors, as though there is no light at all, only dark ambient lighting. Then I add deep shadows i.e. ambient occlusion. It gives my image a depth.

Typography Created with String and Nails
“We were commissioned by Petrol to create a sign for the shop in order to reflect the handmade feeling. We decided to create it by the pin typography method. The logo was carefully handcrafted from scratch, made out of steel pins and coloured twine by using the identity colour palette (black & petrol).”
The chair designer the story of Holger Drews
Holger Drews is a character. Growing up in the sixties and seventies had a huge influence on him, fully emerging into the hippie movement and living life in it’s extremes. He became on of the shining figures for the movement in Denmark, but his biggest passion stayed the designing of furniture, especially chairs. Now, despite being old, he still works everyday to construct the perfect chair and you will understand that this means more to him than just a process of designing. Instead he creates also in an effort to leave something behind, something that will make him as an artist not to be forgotten. Watch the video
