COMB by Amey & Babin
COMB is a minimalist design created by France-based designers Jean-Charles Amey & Ferréol Babin. Comb is a small but useful desk accessory. It solves regular problems for laptop users that often move with their computer from their office to meetings. By keeping the cables on the desktop, Comb facilitates their connection. They stay organised and held, thus avoiding entanglement, loss and waste of time.

EarthBaked :: Biodegradable Footwear
EarthBaked is a minimal biodegradable footwear concept designed to strengthen feet, the earth, and our conscience.

The shoe design consists of three main components. Sole, front upper, and back upper. The upper is made with 100% wool. Wool has amazing natural properties that make it soft against skin, breathable, antimicrobial, moisture wicking, and durable. Wool is also biodegradable and works as a slow release fertilizer. With a little heat, moisture and time, the fibers break down and release valuable sulfur and nitrogen into the soil. The sole is 3mm of natural rubber with another 3mm of wool layered on top. The 6mm of separation between your foot and the ground strengthens your feet with an almost barefoot walking experience.
Another goal of the EarthBaked shoe was to simplify and economize the cost of manufacturing. It is estimated that 2 billion people worldwide are currently plagued with parasitic diseases that could be prevented by wearing shoes. EarthBaked wanted a shoe that was so simple to make that a family in Africa could start a shoe making business and become a benefit to their community. The EarthBaked shoe only requires a sewing machine, scissors, material and a pattern to be constructed.

The EarthBaked shoe is also packable and light weight. Throw it in a backpack, emergency kit, or travel bag.

We’d love your support to bring EarthBaked into production. If you like it, check us out on Kickstarter!
Intellectual Property Guide: Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights @medianovak

New ideas make the world of business go ’round, and small businesses are no exception. Such ideas can be the lifeblood for these businesses, which are often built around a new invention, product, process, service or idea. But small-business owners often aren’t sure what to do when they have a new idea. Should you get a patent? How can you protect your business interests? What’s a trademark, anyway? And is copyright even something that concerns you? To address those questions and others, here’s a primer of the three intellectual property biggies: patents, trademarks and copyrights.

Promotional Products as Effective Marketing Tools
What are promotional products and why are they good for marketing? Well, promotional products are and easy way of promoting, or in other words, marketing your business. Promotional products can be pens, stress shapes, promotional water bottles or promotional non-woven bags (as well as some other things). When you decide to giveaway a certain promotional product, just make sure you printed all the information needed that is related to your company and you are good to go!
They don’t require an uttered (where you can reach just a certain amount of people every day) and therefore are very suitable for a faster expansion. They have a far more wide-reaching effect than advertisements or commercials. It is more probable for a customer to remember your information if he or she gets a promotional product, than if he reads about your company in the newspaper.

In addition to being effective, promotional products are very cheap, which is very important when it comes to marketing big companies. Just think of it this way, when you write an advertisement it’s basically a one-time deal, but promotional products are sure to be seen by hundreds of people. I mean, who doesn’t use pens in his everyday life?
Another very important benefit of promotional products is that they give your company a reputation of helpfulness. This can help you in gaining public favor in the future. Promotional products are a win-win situation for both sides. The customer gets an item that is helpful, and the company gets a long term advertisement.
How to distribute your promotional products?
Make conferences and meetings. Conferences and meeting are ideal events where you can promote your company. For example, you can give a promotional product at the end of the meeting as a “thanks for coming” gift. This way, you get to promote yourself and meet the customers face to face. You can also do this at holiday parties if you notice some potential customers.

Since then Kazuhiko received positive appreciation from other artists and fans.
