Death of A.D.E (Prod. Krash)

London based all-round creative participant A.D.E just dropped his latest track entitled “Death of A.D.E” in anticipation of his upcoming project, which will be revealed later this week. The highly addictive song has an introduction by J. Robert Oppenheimer, the creator of the atomic bomb, talking about the reaction of when the bomb landed on Hiroshima. The artwork shows the execution of John the Baptist, who was killed for fore telling the future. (Caravaggio, 1607). It’s a metaphor for the necessity of A.D.E to get to the next step, which will be the ‘Thy A’Priori‘ project launching on wednesday. “An avant-garde inspired art and music outfit, created and curated by Ademide Udoma.”

Kanye West – “The New Slaves Stunt”

With his album only one month away, Kanye West performs a huge stunt to promote his new tune “New Slaves”. Well what’s the best way to promote a song that’s basically a ill creative rant hitting powerful people? Right, my thoughts exactly, you just project Kanye’s face on tall buildings in the biggest cities around the world at the same time and let him spit his verses on us slaves. The track is ill, a trill beat, kanye spiting hard verses pretty monotone and at the end Frank Ocean sings. Perfect song right? I guess we can expect him to perform this track on SNL tonight.

lao. – Daydreamin´(Original Mix)

Intense, surrealistic and spacey are the attributes that describe this new Mix by lao. best. Remember the time when you had Daydreamin by Lupe Fiasco on repeat? That was a “slightly” different take on the classic Daydream by The Wallace Collection. This track is not from this world.

Honey You only know me as Mykki

Michael Quattlebaum Jr. is wearing Lace-Up Combat Flatforms, two different kinds of plaid, and a pink and black bomber jacket. It’s a look that doesn’t scream Sunday afternoon so much as it screams: It is still Saturday night to me! That’s because he’s pretty much coming from the club. He’s just off a flight from Boston, and tells us he was partying till 6 am. He’s been off his tour for a few days and says he’s exhausted. “Next time I’ll know. After twenty-six days on tour you need more than four days to rest before you start the next one,” he says. “It was amazing, but I’ll never do it again.”
The thing is, that kind of schedule is paying off. Mykki Blanco, Quattlebaum’s tough-rapping, cross-dressing stage persona, is gaining momentum: lots of club play, her song “Wavvy” has half a million hits on YouTube, and the New York alternative weekly, The Village Voice, just put her on the cover.
