Atu – “Pictures on Silence” (Free Soulection Beattape)

21-year-old Atu comes to us from Ann Arbor, Michigan courtesy of Sango. When we first heard Atu’s music, we were blown away with his clear 90′s r&b influences and diverse future sound. The Malawian producer delicately fuses bass and soul, adding his signature, elegant vocal sampling to the mix.
b.east – “Dat Jazz” // Jazzy Experimental Beattape

Alexandra Chouette – Buenos Highres

Fell madly in love with this incredible set by Cape Town based Djane Alexandra Chouette. The set is a perfect minimal, dreamy mix with a subtle south-american accent. Proper headphones/speakers and closed eyes highly recommended!

Beatsofreen – Coloured Dreams (Free Future Soul Mixtape)

‘Coloured Dreams’ display the many sides of Beatsofreen, as he moves effortlessly from more traditional Dilla-esque beats to experimental forms like the intro track ‘Behind Us.’ His ability to subtly blend different instrumentations, while keeping the entire structure intact is really what caught our ears. We are definitely sure this will be the start of many good releases to come from this man on Darker Than Wax.
