As with any new technology, getting started is often the hardest part.
With this frustration in mind, we have put together some of my handiest tips, tricks and code snippets related to the jQuery Mobile library.
Because this is not a full-on primer for using the library, we will skip over some of the things that become rather obvious as you get started and instead get straight to the items that become rather frustrating or troublesome.

How do you photograph one of the most secretive countries in the world?
For Charlie Crane the answer was simple, photograph what they want you to see. If there is no possibility of getting underneath the surface then the answer was to photograph the surface itself. This series is taken from a larger body of work in Pyongyang, the capital city of North Korea. Although not commonly thought of as a holiday destination all these photographs have been taken at tourist sites throughout the city.

GEL Conference 2011
GEL (Good Experience Live) is an annual 2-day event that takes place in New York City. Weeks prior, the 300-something attendees book one of 18, curated experiences to partake in on day 1 and witness outstanding talks from 17 of today’s leaders in technology, music and life in general on day 2. There is a series of workshops as well for all to learn from and to share each other’s individual experiences. Thornberg & Forester was asked to brand the event again this year. From a creative standpoint, T&F ultimately decided to celebrate this years’ theme of “Breaking the Barrier” by juxtaposing real world, NY-inspired situations (the venue for the event is the NY Times Center) with T&F’s authentic “GEL treatment”. The DP, Justin Meredith, spent a few days shooting all over NYC and Brooklyn, T&F then built rough edits which would become a canvas to brainstorm even further. A small army of amazing illustrators was assembled and they painstakingly drafted (and rotoscoped) thousands of frames….some even worked in 3D. Enjoy!
