The Street is a Catwalk by Danny Santos II
One of the reasons I love shooting in Orchard Road is that it’s teeming with good-looking people frequently walking around, almost strutting… especially on the weekends. Even with relatively modest getups, the air of confidence is often noticeable from their head-turning allure down to their subtle swagger. Early on in my candid shooting exploits, it was this crowd that I wanted to capture.
Disturbing porcelain sculptures about the union between man and nature by Kate D. MacDowell

Kate D. MacDowell: “I hand sculpt each piece out of porcelain, often building a solid form and then hollowing it out. Smaller forms are built petal by petal, branch by branch and allow me the chance to get immersed in close study of the structure of a blossom or a bee. I chose porcelain for its luminous and ghostly qualities as well as its strength and ability to show fine texture. It highlights both the impermanence and fragility of natural forms in a dying ecosystem, while paradoxically, being a material that can last for thousands of years and is historically associated with high status and value. I see each piece as a captured and preserved specimen, a painstaking record of endangered natural forms and a commentary on our own culpability.”

Edition29 ARCHITECTURE 006 for iPad

An iconic little building in upstate New York by Dutch architect Ben Van Berkel of the firm UN Studio was destroyed by fire in 2007. This house known as the VilLA NM was one of the first elegantly executed and internationally recognized reinterpretation of the Glass House and immerged at the dawn of the internet age as a prelude to an era of sculptural modernism. The cover of Edition29 Architecture Issue 006 pays tribute to this little gem that has temporarily fallen, but now lives on through the stunning photographs by Christian Richters.
