Excellent Video about the Extraordinary Gilbert and George!

World renowned UK artists Gilbert and George recently gave a talk to students at the College of Fine Arts, The University of New South Wales, Australia. This has to be one of the most entertaining, crazy talks we’ve ever seen! They speak about their artwork, living in a house with no kitchen and give some ‘straight to the point’ advice to up and coming artists. Settle in and enjoy 50 minutes of mayhem!

Fan Xiaoyan

The sculptor, Fan Xiaoyan was born in 1983 in Gaomi. In 2008 she graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and now lives and works in Beijing.
Fan herself says that her work proclaims “the arrival of a new era, a new kind of human being, a new power, a new sensation… a surrealistic virtual world in which men and women are equal”. Certainly, the violent contrast between pink flesh and cold, hard steel in Fang’s works gives rise to an intense visual and psychological shock. The unbearability of enduring such heavy attachments gives rise to a kind of strength and sweetness.

The exhibition is called COFA Annual 2009
Hit play, and you’ll see some of what they saw – smoking heads, an endless flood of spilt milk, an army tank made from office refuse, and a lot more – a stunning collection of work across every medium you can think of…

Sander Reijgers ‘Football’ Creations

Fine Arts sculptor Sander Reijgers hails from Utrecht, Netherlands and his provocative ‘Football’ creations would suggest he has a lot of time and money on his hands, not to mention an imagination run wild. Who would think to create footballs, or anything else for that matter, out of blow-up sex dolls, really? What a bizarre medium. Anyway, he seems to have a knack for making odd, sport-related ’sculptures’ from sex doll parts, most especially the vagina opening. It takes all types to make the world go around, doesn’t it…
