Bag animals for Louis Vuitton
These new critters were designed for the launch of Louis Vuitton’s Mon Monogram service for small leather goods. Each animal highlights an element in the design of the products. The Armadillo was to highlight the soft yet durable quality of the leather. The Chameleon displays the variety of colour. The Grasshopper is constructed from products with zips and poppers that make satisfying noises like that of the musically gifted insect. And finally my favorite, the Beaver, who’s functionality chops wood, builds dams…and provides cleaver ways of organising ones life in men’s bags and wallets.
Scott Campbell’s “Noblesse Oblige”

Tattooist Scott Campbell is making it big as a pop/fashion artist; after his last incredible show, last June he was spotted backstage at Louis Vuitton putting neck tats on the models as well as debuting his own designs on some bags. Last night he opened Noblesse Oblige (“Nobility Obliges”) at LA’s OH WOW gallery, which includes more of his trademark skull motifs, money sculptures, and beautifully rendered drawings reflecting on the melancholic beauty of life/death. Show runs until April 22.

Character Sketch – IKS

This week, our Character Sketch covers a French artist known only as IKS. He is employed as a clothing designer, but he also does freelance graphic and illustrative design in his freetime. This is evident in his work, as our favourite piece of his is The Simpsons Fashion piece with Bart Simpson in Louis Vuitton x Kanye West Ibn Jasper sneakers, LV Evidence sunglasses, and the LV Christopher backpack. His connection between art, pop culture, and fashion is very identifiable, and entertaining to look at.
