New Balance H710 Hiking Boots
The New Balance H710 for autumn/winter 2010 is a design-mixture of a classic hiking boot and sneaker elements. The shoe feature tonal leather uppers, rugged outsoles and d-ring lace loops. Both colorways are set to drop in September, 2010, but are now available for pre-order at Scotland-based Hanon. More pictures…

‘Garden District’ sustainable village in Edinburgh
Scottish entrepreneur Sir David Edward Murray has proposed to build a GBP1 billion ($1.5 billion approx) sustainable eco-village named ‘Garden District’ on the western fringe of Edinburgh, Scotland.
The centerpiece of this 3500-home sustainable village would be the ‘Calyx’, a visitor attraction inspired by the Glasgow Garden Festival. Calyx, dubbed as ‘international garden showcase’, will be designed as a place where sustainable gardening methods for residents and visitors will be showcased. Residents will be encouraged to grow their own fruits and vegetables in gardens and allotments. A quarter of the homes among the 3,500 homes would be in the affordable category.

The Whisky Trail by Liam Bonar
Graphic designer and photographer Liam Bonar had a central role in the publication of The Whisky Trail, a photographic documentary about the drink. His photography work is featured throughout, showcasing the distilleries of Scotland and the cultural importance of the drink.
What’s more, Bonar crafted a beautiful laser-cut wooden case for the book, made of the same wood used for the casks whisky is aged in. A beautiful case for a beautiful book.
