Illustrator Chris Kasch

Chris Kasch is a UK illustrator who has built an impressive and varied clientele throughout his 14 year career. His work is instantly recognisable to anyone in touch with contemporary illustration.
Longest Art Projects

With Synecdoche, New York just released in the UK, which centres on theatre director Caden Cotard (Philip Seymour Hoffman), building an increasingly complex living replica of New York over twenty years, it seemed an appropriate time to visit a selection of real artists who have dedicated their lives to a single project. People like Charles Avery, who has imagined a whole island of people and species that he is gradually creating (above)

Christo and Jeanne-Claude, who like wrapping really large things in fabric – like The Reichstag, a forest and a number of islands; and John Cage, who has written a musical piece being played in a German church which will last 639 years.
Ron English

Ron English started out twenty years ago, before anyone knew what subvertising was, targeting billboards in Texas and pasting over them with parodies of corporate excess, war, and pop culture. He now creates gallery-sized canvases too, a selection of which are being displayed in the UK for the first time this week at Elms Lester Painting Rooms in a show called Lazarus Rising.
Holding Court with UK artist V V Brown

British singer-songwriter, V.V. Brown is on the verge of becoming one of the big acts of 2009. With her mix of 1960’s pop and contemporary soul, Brown has the music scene abuzz about her upcoming debut album. Not only does the girl have a great voice, but her lyrical content takes the listener on a musico-emotional adventure. V.V. can currently be seen in the pages of Vogue magazine and her fans in the United Kingdom can grab her album Traveling Like The Light when it hit stores in June. I was lucky enough to snag an interview with V.V. in which she talks about her music, new fame, and being compared to other artists.
