An Apple-1 computer with serial number 22, from the estate of former Apple employee Joe Copson, is being auctioned by Christie’s in central London on October 9, 2012. The Apple-1 was hand-built by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and originally sold for US$666.66. The pre-auction estimate for the Apple-1 is £80,000 or US126,552. Christie’s scientific specialist James Hyslop said of the sale, “This is the computer that started Apple, now recognized as the most valuable company in the world. Its significance in making computer technology accessible for all cannot be undervalued.” via Hungeree
