Wirral Waters is a large scale £4.5bn development that has been proposed by the company Peel Holdings for Birkenhead, on the Wirral Peninsula, England. It is a sister programme of the Liverpool Waters project.
The project encompasses 400,000 square meter of office space, 60,000 square meters of retail space, 38,000 square meters of hotel and conference facilities and 100,000 square meter of culture, education, community and leisure space.it is considered to be the largest and most visionary regeneration project in the UK.
The 21 million square feet scheme will see the creation of a world-class mixed-use iconic development of over 50 buildings, many over 50 stories high. Each building will be individually designed by leading architects from around the world to ensure a mix of iconic styles. The proposed project includes large projects by SOM, Glenn Howells, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and HKR.
