Keeper of the Cars from Aleppo

Mohamed Badr al-Din (R) stands in front of his vintage cars along a street where he keeps them, in the al-Shaar neighborhood of Aleppo January 31, 2015. The 66-year-old collector nicknamed Abu Omar inherited the hobby from his father and has a large collection of vintage cars, some of which he says belonged to former Syrian officials and were used in several movies and shows. Before the unrest, Abu Omar planned to open a museum to display his cars, which are guarded from pedestrians by a turkey that he owns. He hopes that the turmoil in the country will end so that he can pursue his hobby and repair his cars, which are heavily damaged from shelling. (Photo by Abdalrhman Ismail/Reuters)

ZumZum – Coolest Balance Bike Ever with Natural Suspension

A professional mountain biker, who has won many championships, Steve Peat has teamed up with the ZumZum team to create a super first kids bike with extremely flexible natural suspension in an eye-catching eco-design.

Children as young as 18 months can use this stylish, easy-to-ride bike. It has no pedals, so children must propel it with their feet. However, it is so well balanced that they can pick up their feet, and begin learning to balance a two-wheeled vehicle. This is not just a matter of putting wheels on a wooden shape, or taking the pedal off a regular bike. With 50mm of natural suspension, the patented wooden spring adjusts to the terrain, giving the child a smooth ride.

Wrecked in Detroit

An older model Ford Mustang sits on cinder blocks with missing wheels near an abandoned apartment building in Detroit, Michigan January 7, 2015. Detroit, also known as the Motor City, is the historic hub of automobile manufacturing in the United States. A federal judge in December 2013 formally declared the city bankrupt but it won court approval to exit bankruptcy last November. Once the proud symbol of U.S. industrial strength, Detroit fell on hard times after decades of population loss, rampant debt and financial mismanagement left it struggling to provide basic services to residents. The Detroit car show, formally the North American International Auto Show, is being held for the 26th year and represents the turn in the city’s fortune with 2014 being the best year for U.S. car sales since 2006. Reuters photographer Joshua Lott documented old or damaged cars, a common element in a series of cityscapes in the former automobile industry giant. (Photo by Joshua Lott/Reuters)
