The Swiss aviator jumped from a helicopter at an altitude of 3,600 meters (11,811 feet) and successfully flew the jet-powered carbon-Kevlar Jetwing around the 3,776-meter (12,388-foot)-tall mountain, Japan’s highest peak, which was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in June. Winter Weather around the Northern Hemisphere
Temperatures have plunged in parts of Europe and further east. Among the hardest hit countries is Ukraine, where as many as 30 people have died on snow-covered streets, in hospitals and in their own homes in the past four days.
