This incredible table is the work of art by hobbiest, Ryan Devoto, who undoubtedly loves miniatures and terrain. With a table of this magnitude, it’s not hard to picture yourself stepping right into this scene. From the beautiful buildings and shops, to the absolutely unreal ships coming into port – I would get lost in this room just staring at this masterpiece. Forming a likeness between the animal kingdom and the human form, hungarian artist Flora Borsi has formed the series ‘animeyed’, which creates curious hybrid beings from two different species. The collection of self-portraits sees Borsi situated side-by-side six separate creatures: a cat, dove, blowfish, goldfish, snake and hare. The effect forms hybrid entities that play with the perception of the viewer and cleverly display the physical similarities between the human and animal features. Continue reading »
Architect Joe Chikamori of 07BEACH has outdone himself when it comes to producing a pet-friendly home. In the span of only 49 days, the architect was able to redesign his friend’s Vietnam-based residence by installing several modern features. The most interesting installation: a separate staircase for his friend’s small dogs. When deciding what to change during the planning stage, Chikamori’s priority was to make the house comfortable for the entire family—furry friends and all. Continue reading »
You know you’re committed to your craft when you find a way to wrangle an actual bear for your photoshoot. This is Tina Rybakova in what is touted as a unique interpretation of Merida from the movie Brave (though that is a major stretch. We’ll stick with “fantasy”).
